Stats arrived through a creator-initiated, cryptographically signed export from their own connected accounts — the creator chose to send them.
Authorized Data, Not Scraped Data
Mainstream tools estimate audiences by scraping public pages. Velvet’s numbers come from the creator’s own account connections — today a live YouTube link or a signed Statcard export, each authorized by the creator, with disconnecting always in the creator’s control. If a number isn’t backed by a connection, the profile says so.

Payments
Every Velvet deal carries its commercial terms with it — the agreed rate, deliverables, usage rights and payment status are on record for both sides from brief to completion. Today, brands pay creators directly and Velvet tracks what’s owed and what’s been paid. Payments through Velvet are coming.
Creators pay Velvet nothing: no listing fee, no percentage of the agreed rate.
